Generation TV studio sessions...Part deux
Went back up to Philmore's to lay down rhythm guitar and drums for the last 4 tracks off the CD. Took a bit to get the drum recording levels down but nothing compared to the first night. Penny took it upon himself to moon me with his horrible black hole of a hairy ass. I got the fucker good right in his chocolate starfish with a cold stream of water from my water bottle. Didn't take long at all with only a couple of re-takes. Since Phil had already mixed the drums down for the first 10 tracks we had time to add 2nd rhythm guitar and bass tracks.
While they were getting ready I took it upon myself to check out our site here. Got to send a few messages, add comments, and even had a chat with our buddy Shyra before Phil scolded me to get offline. Ah, it was fun while it lasted.
Andy & Penny pretty much breezed thru it. A couple retakes and punch ins, but it flowed pretty good. Hearing the playbacks they're definately shaping up. Sound really good just as instrumentals! We're heading back there Wednesday. Should breeze thru the last 4 pretty quickly then it will be on to main vocals. Andy still has to write a few lyrics here or there which I find pretty funny as we've been playing most of these songs live now for awhile. Guess he was always improvising them. I'm really pleased how everything is moving right along. Guess it's good to be fully prepared this time around! Hell, we even have the majority of the backing vocal ideas ready. Previous sessions past we usually make them up on the spot. Practice makes perfect for real.
