Well it's official, tour is cancelled. The icing on the cake was the fucking music expo in Texas was postponed until Labor Day weekend. Nobody from them even bothered to tell us. Good think I looked at their fucking site. And since all our dates were wrapped around coming back from the Texas deal it just wasn't gonna work. Almost everyone of those dates we wanted weren't confirmed anyway. And the last try for getting a van fell thru so I guess it's all for the best.
But out of the bad comes the good. Got a hold of our much beloved producer Philmore of Stealth Studios. He will take time off from triscuit eating and PBS watching to record our next opus "Generation TV". We should start this around the second week of August. All depending on how hot it is 'coz Phil can't stand that muggy weather.
There's enough material for 2 full length CD's. We may even re-record some older tracks. All I know is we need this therapy after all the recent dissapointments. We always have a blast hanging out with Philmore and getting our stuff down on tape. So be on the lookout for a Fall/Winter release.

After my horrible last week I really needed a concert like this to make me forget about stuff for awhile. I was treated to an incredible show that even the real Croweheads are raving about. I ended up taking my friend Jessie as her belated b-day present. She got dressed up for the occassion in a schoolgirl outfit complete with pigtails. Now Jessie is a tall girl, like 6'1"! So the mini skirt really accented her long, long legs. Think Stacy Keibler from the WWE. Her outfit was definately a hit among the fellas in the crowd.
Since it was a general admission concert, we wanted to get there early. We must have gotten in line around 6:45. Lines weren't that bad at all. Doors opened at 7 and in we went. We got nice and close on the open floor. I'd say about 5 people deep from the stage. A little to the left of center, right in from of Marc Ford. The stage was already set for them so I knew there wasn't an opener. Which I was quite glad for anyway. I was hoping for a nice long show. Noticed Steve Gorman plays a Ludwig Amber Vistalite kit ala Bonham.
Since we had an hour before showtime we made small talk with the surrounding fans. Noticed one dude with a Giants hat on and wouldn't ya know it, he starts talking to me. Turns out he was quite a cool dude after all. Hey we had one thing in common, we hate the fuckin' Cowboys! His name was John and he was there with his wife Laura. We met these 2 dude who ended up being brothers. One guys name was Dan. They ended up buying us a round for saving their spot. They were having a lotta fun flirting with my schoolgirl friend. The hour passed quick before showtime. Think they came out promptly at 8. They opened up with "Cursed Diamond" and I knew this was gonna be a hot one.
Our new friend John sparked right up and since I don't indulge, Jessie benefitted. Think I did at least get a contact high LOL! The first set was really smokin' When they broke into "Cosmic Friend" I remarked "I don't a fuck what anyone says, Lions is a great album" causing the dude in front of me to high five me saying it was his favorite. I tell ya I had a smile from ear to ear and kept on grooving. Great 1st set.
The 2nd set brought the mood down a bit with acoustic and semi-acoustic songs to start with. I'm not not meaning that in a bad way at all, just mellowed us down a bit. Turns out they were playing the Neil Young song "Pardon My Heart" live for the 1st time. You would've have known it from the incredible harmonies. They also covered Dylan's "Girl From The North Country" in this acoustic part. "Jealous Again" wound up being a nice slow burner with Rich Robinson on acoustic. Very nice indeed! They broke out "Better When You're Not Alone" for the 1st time on this tour. The end of the set was definately smoking and we got a "Tumbling Dice" for an encore fitting for a casino! Great, great show!
The crowd was really cool for the most part. Only one real jerk who bullied his way in to take pictures. Wound up making my new friends move. One tall couple moved their way in too but who was I say to no when the chick looked liked a double for Scarlett Johanson? Speaking of celebrities, I swore I saw Chris Robinson's missus Kate Hudson getting her groove on stage right.
The place cleared out pretty quick. I wound up being the very last person to get a shirt. Some creep was trying to pick up Jess and wanted us to go to the Gypsy Bar. But she wasn't up for that so we headed right out. No problems leaving at all.

Spot on harmonies on the debut of Neil Young's Pardon My Heart. Chris, Rich, Marc and Sven sang it like they'd been playing it for years. Great vibe, solid crowd.
