Beat The Meatles (Jam with Philmore and Bob)
What a jam, almost 5 full friggin' hours! We had a couple of breaks here and there, mostly for "mother nature" for the old hippies. First time the 3 of played together, was the first time I was playing most of these songs in a band setting, and we played most of them all the way thru. We just about covered The Beatles songbook with a few other songs thrown in. And I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff too. So many highlights, I liked "Tomorrow Never Knows" into the Indian stuff with me adding lyrics from "Set The Controls" at the end. The Abbey Road medley was also a blast; I did my best Ringo on "The End" (that little drum break is what made me wanna be a drummer as a kid). The beginning of "How Many More Times" right into "Superstition" was a treat too. It was well worth the scary ride home in the slush, I'm exhausted still, but smiling. Hopefully we'll be jamming out again sometime soon.
