It's been a strange year as far as people from my past contacting me and other weird asides. Not sure if I posted about them or not, so I'll go down the list.
First off, my nephew Joe contacted me thru my space. I hadn't heard from him since I lived with his family for a year in '78/'79. We exchanged a few emails and then he's suddenly dissapeared again as soon as he showed up.
Next, which is even weirder, My friend Erik remarked how he knew someone from my hometown (again thru my space). Next thing I know is the guy contacts me so I exchange an email with him. Turns out he was friggin' raised in the same house I lived in! 943 Springfield Rd.! We moved in '72, his family moved in around '74. So we exchanged a few more emails and he was supposed to send some pictures, but haven't heard from him in a couple weeks.
Now to complete the weird trifecta, I heard from my Aunt Jane for the first time in over 15 years! Yes, my Aunt the Catholic nun believe it or not! Last time I saw her was a year after my Mother died, I nearly burst into tears because she could be my Mom's twin, so seeing her was kinda tough. I always wonder about all this family that I have that I don't even know. Maybe this could be the start of some reconnections.
My friend Snowy sent her English chocolates that I gorged on over the last 3 days. I'm down to 1 packet of "chocolate drinking powders" as they call them. Thank God I don't live over there, I'd be twice my size! Their chocolate puts ours to shame. Hershey can blow me after that! Oh man, I'm also fond of Jaffa Cakes she sent me as well. I'm supposed to be getting more of those on my birthday next month.
I'm really trying to feel the Christmas spirit and I think I am just a little bit. On Wednesday I sat down and wrote out my Christmas cards. I also got together Snowy's package. I wound up sending her my own copy of the Best Buy KISSology against her protests. Also threw in the 2 Sheckie full length CD, stickers, and a t-shirt. I put together a package for my wife as well. Sent her the DVD, 2 shirts, and "Generation TV". I've really been thinking of her a lot recently. Sometimes I wish I could move her up her, but then I ask is it out of love or lonliness? Either way, I'm glad we remained friends thru it all.
The thing that really got my Christmas spirit up is I heard a friend was going thru some troubles and might not be able to give her son a decent Christmas. So I inquired what he likes and found out he's a big Flyers fan. So I got together an assortment of Flyers cards I had laying around as well as the Quisp action figures. I threw in the Sheckies DVD for her as well since I know she's been wanting it. Wish I could offer more, but with me having my own money troubles. I still think the kid will like it.
Today we have a band practice scheduled and we'll all be heading up to the mall afterwards. I hope I can finally get my jacket back from Phil too! Tomorrow is my employee Xmas party that I plan on being loaded at. Saturday we have that show at Memories Lounge in Richland, NJ. Everyone seems to be complaining how far away it is, so I don't know what to expect as far as turnout goes. My sissy is also picking up my brother Mikey for Xmas tomorrow. We're also hoping to get a live tree this year so we'll see what happens.
Looks like snow weather outside, shame it's too warm though. Ah well, back to the internet and hoping Cindy calls me as she said she'll try this morning.
