I'm a little behind in my posting.
The Halloween show was pretty eventful to say the least. Pretty low turnout that would've been even lower if it wasn't for our friends going. I think we were the only band to really try and promote it. So what did we get as a reward? Getting bumped from 2nd, to 3rd, to playing last. I just wish they would've stuck with a set schedule and here we are getting bumped to help out other bands with getting up for work early and whatnot. Why didn't they think of that before the gig? I kinda felt disrespected a bit, but what can you do?
Andy wore ghoul makeup, I had my hair down and was wearing a tye-dye t-shirt and went as a hippy (I know, real planning on my part). We still put on a great show and was having a lot of fun until Penny brought up the friggin' X-mas party incident on the mic that just doesn't seem to go away. It's what caused my flame war with George and I'm just sick of it, mainly 'coz I'm embarressed by the whole thing more than anything. I put up with a lot of ribbing and I can even laugh with most of it. The Xmas party is just one thing I wish people would understand is off limits. I now realize Penny at the time didn't think it was a big deal (he did when we talked about afterwards). So I winged a drumstick at him right after he said it. I then got up and was playfully jumping on him. He really thought I was really attacking him. Unfortunately, I tripped and we both went down in a tumble. He thought his bass was fucked up and BAM! Socked me right in the fucking jaw! I was more stunned that he punched me more than the actual punch, although I admit I saw that white flash meaning he connected good. A bouncer jumped on him for a bit but thankfully backed off. He went and checked on his bass and I went back behind the drums and we play "Neg Mofo" & "King Kong" to finish the set. There's no bad blood at all, it was just a misunderstanding. We're all laughing about it now. Funniest part was right afterwards our pal Mike Shields yells out "that should've been a DVD extra" joking about the upcoming DVD.

Last night we went up to the studio for the start of the mixdown. Here's that report...
Fear & Loathing sessions - Day 9
Now comes the very tedious part, the mixdown. All the hard work comes to this. Andy, ever the perfectionist, wants the perfect sound. So there's a lot of remixing and listening and what not. So much so that my tired ass slept thru most of it! So if you're looking detailed technical notes, ask the other 2 dopes.
It was taking awhile 'coz the 1st 2 tracks seam right into each other and we were trying to figure out where to split it at. Phil just mixed it as one track for now. I guess when we get it mastered it will fix that. Then it took forever to get the sample right for "Totally Worthless".
By the end of the night only the first 3 tracks were done, but let me tell you, it was worth it. I think this is going to be the best sounding CD yet. Andy's dreams and visions are coming true.
In other news, I think all the supplies for the DVD's are coming in tomorrow. Penny has really done a fantastic job with this. I can't wait for everyone to see this! The DVD release party is this Saturday at our buddy Murdoch's. Should be a fun time!
