Jen's B-day Party, Alfe's Restaurant, Wildwood, NJ 10/29/06
Got back a little while ago from playing a birthday party show for one of our fans, Jen. Pretty surreal playing in a restaurant, but they had a room just for us with a little stage. Kinda felt like "Murph and The Magic Tones" with the tinsel backdrop, but it added to the fun actually.
At first nobody was up dancing but thankfully some people started and K got a few more out there, so it made it more fun for us. It was really shaping up to be a memorable show when I broke my snare drum head right at the beginning of "Stoopid Movie". If I was a professional, I'd have another snare drum ready to go or at least a spare drum head. But alas, I'm not. So I managed to finish the song and a call went out for duct tape. I manage to rig it for the end of the show. People got back up dancing and it turn out pretty fun regardless.
Afterwards us shy dopes found a table in the back where we sat down for our dinner. We literally sang for our supper at this one! We all had the chicken parm and we managed to get K a couple bowls of salad as well. Dinner took awhile, but we killed time by chilling out and acting dopey.
When we were finished eating we packed up the gear and said goodbye to Penny and K. No way Andy and I were gonna miss cake! We had a couple slices and went out and got a couple CD's and stickers for the birthday girl. So thanks Jen and family for having us. Hope we helped provide a pretty memorable birthday party! - King
