Damn, I never did post about our trip to the studio last Saturday. Here is that...
Fear & Loathing sessions - Day 3
Andy and I were just going up this time. He was going to add his 2nd guitar parts. But first we had to stop at our favorite Wawa up there for some needed "noorishment". We got to Phil's and chowed down as he was playing a few CD's Andy brought for him to get an idea of the sound we're after. Phil then ran our reel and with a bit of tweaking here and there had it pretty much sounding exactly what we were looking for.
Andy then got to work on the guitar parts and banged them right out with only a minor mistake here and there. It was pretty much the quickest session ever. Afterwards we sat out in the living room as Phil did the playback. Man, this is really, really going to sound great! The snare and bass drum sound is right on. I was even amazed to hear my kick drum work on "Boob Tube". Sounds like my fat ass is playing double bass!
From here the next step is adding lead vocals. Still have to wait until Andy's cold clears up. Hopefully by Wednesday we'll be going back up.
And here's what we did last night...
Fear and Loathing sessions - Day 4
Andy's cold finally cleared up and it was time for him to lay down his lead vocal tracks. After picking up Penny in CMCH, it was time to head up. Of course we had to stop at our favorite Wawa. Andy and I were amazed to see someone there bigger than us, amazing huh? When we arrived at Phil's he was already finishing up his dinner so we chowed down on our "noorishment". Sadly, there was no box of donut holes for Andy to warm his voice up with this time around.
He wound up getting 14 of the 15 tracks done. And yes, we took plenty advantage of having him punched in several times. Ah, the wonders of studio trickery. At least it ain't no pro tools bullshit fuck face! Andy was happy as all fuck by the way everything sounded at playback. He did make an attempt to try the last song "Runaround", but his voice was pretty much shot by that point. So now it will take several days for it to recover and we'll head back up. Hopefully we can start working on our always fun backing vocals.
I still wanna make a bootleg copy of "I'm A Slug" with his retarded sounding "Go" and "we're gonna punch that out".
Not much else going on lately outside the band. I did have a psychotic ex-girlfriend (I use that term lightly, I generally regard her as "a girl I used to fuck") call me up out of the blue. That's always fun.
And I guess I can count Geo as a stalker now. That fucker seems obsessed with me. Now he's after me on my old band's my space page. But he just wound up making himself look like a horse's ass. Some people have waaaay too much time on their hands.
The Xanax were calling me like a siren singing sweetly yesterday, I almost heeded their call. Instead, I shoved more food down my gullet, it's a much easier addiction...
