Andy's a bit under the weather so the trip to the studio was postponed. Guess our next opportunity won't be until maybe some time next week.
Looks like I will be working way more hours these next few weeks. My boss is going in for a biopsy next Thursday. I'll be covering his wife's shift. He's the kitchen manager, his wife & her sister (twins btw) are the main line cooks. So I take it both will be out for awhile while he's recovering. All we can do is hope for the best. Pretty sad time needless to say at the old workplace.
I was involved in a rather nasty flame war with a former friend somewhere along the information superhighway. Stupid, stupid shit that got way out of control. Apparently I'm not allowed to get pissed off at the constant ragging on I endure. I'm a good soldier and play along for the most part, but sometimes you don't want to deal with it. I've come to the sad conclusion that most of the folks I know in my area are more associates than true blue friends. I have not the time or energy for this shit. But everyone loves a good drama so at least people were entertained for a bit. Time to find someone else to play the role. What's funny is most of the people who do throw stones live inside a bottle. Cape May County gothic reigns supreme.
I'm listening to a killer Nirvana bootleg found here. There's all kinds of music to be found on that site as well. Shows get rotated weekly it seems.
The lovely Sky has a new set up. Do check it out.
It friggin' sucks that all I can think about is saving up for the dentist visit in October. 3 events on my calendar are must see. The Queers come back to the Northstar Bar in Philly on 10/9. The SG Burlesque show hits the HOB in AC that month as well. And of course, John "Dr. Dirty" Valby will make another appearance at the HOB in November. Hope there's no assigned seating this time! "My Son" and "future daughter in law" (Mike & Renee) are going with me to see The Black Crowes in Sayreville, NJ on 11/8.
The Weird New Jersey Volume 2 is excellent. Can't wait to read the Weird Hauntings book as well. My goal is to own al the Weird state books in the series. It will be done!
I dug out some Velvet Underground stuff for the first time in ages. White Light/White Heat along with the 3rd self titled album found their way on the playlist. My favorite still is the 2 volumes of "Live 1969". Sorry purists.
Question of the day...Why is it I love a hairy bush but not hairy armpits? Hunter's set yesterday gave me that 70's flashback, but when I saw the hairy pits I had to pass. To each their own is my creed, but I know what I like and it's not for me. (I'm a poet and didn't know it)
Poetry you say? Have a taste of erotica inspired by the one who broke my heart...
I gaze at your beauty,
I'm hypnotized.
Under your spell I have fallen,
Like an angel cast out from heaven,
My Morningstar.
Under the moon,
Under the sheets,
Come weave your spell.
Honey to the hive,
Bee to sting my lips,
Full in rapt attention,
I await.
To enter in your kingdom,
Allow me thru your gates.
Night air heavy with our sighs,
But will this fallen angel fly?
Take me,
Taste me,
Give me release.
