Just a bit depressed today. I was supposed to go see the Black Crowes tonight in Reading, PA but my original concert buddy George moved to North Carolina and I could find no one else who wanted to go. So once again I'll eat the costs. The brothers Robinson need it. Last week we found out Ed was no longer in the band, this Tuesday Marc announced he was leaving the band. Mind you it was 2 days before the tour was supposed to start! They're plugging along with a new keyboardist and a temporary guitarist for the Fall tour, but it is pretty sad. The message board of course is having a meltdown. Who knows what the future holds, all I know is I'm still a fan and I'll support whatever Ed and Marc do as well.
Speaking of George, we had a nice long and pretty funny phone call this morning. He's doing quite well down there in Greensboro. He absolutely loves the area and his girlfriend Heather is a real angel. He woke up from a dream where I had left a answering machine filled with broadway and old musical numbers. Don't know what the hell the dream interpertation is of that, but I had to belt a few out in the course of the call much to the laughter of us both.
Penny left Andy a text message yesterday saying he needs a couple weeks to get his head together. I have no idea what's going on, I know he did say it didn't involve K. Maybe the grandparents are getting on his case again. I guess it will be wait and see until he contacts one of us. Either way, we're still planning on going up to Phil's sometime next week to start recording. The first visit will be getting the drum sound down anyway. And if Penny isn't ready after that, Andy and I can lay our tracks down and he can add his later.
I finally got to talk Cindy for awhile the other day. The new schedule really sucks leaving us only with Tuesday being the only day we can chat for now. Phone calls are few and far between of late and when they do happen they're short. She doesn't even send me email as much as the school is monitoring how much time is spent on the computer. So it's been our driest spell since we 1st started talking. Hopefully things will settle down soon and they'll be enough time for us. Such is my affair in the digital age.
I heard from my pal Murdoch last night. Our local paper did contact him and a couple other people about the whole American Legion hall thing. It will be out in next week's edition and hopefully our side will be heard. I don't expect we'll ever get that venue back, but at least we won't be blacklisted from everywhere else as being the band "that has roving bands of youths terrorizing the neighborhoods".
The lonliness bug is biting me again. Now is the time I just wish I had someone to hang with, someone with the same interests. This is where I desperately miss my sweet Sonja. She would've been my road buddy. God, I miss her so much sometimes....
