Michael's, Wildwood, NJ 8/30/06
Raucous was kind enough to ask us to play this show with them a few weeks ago. Andy's brother Nick (as Tinnitis) was playing as well. We ran kinda late for once. We thought we had the usual 10-2 slot, but the club wanted the bands to wrap up by Midnight 'coz they had a DJ set to play. Was news to the bands when we got there. So after picking up Kite and Matt we made it there almost at 9:30 and Nick was already playing.
We hung out for a bit near the pool tables. Friggin' Lala showed up as well as Tiffany, Lexus, and Amber. Nick's set was soon done and onstage we went. Chuck was kind enough to let me use his Stretch Armstrong drumkit again. We opened up with 2 new songs, "Something's Wrong With My Brain" and "Boob Tube". Boob Tube is actually an older Andy song from a previous band brought back out of retirement. We kinda screwed it up a little bit with the timing off a bit. I swore I was on, but then again I couldn't hear nothing back there.
I wasn't into it at first, but as the show went on I got into the spirit of things. Even sang some backing vocals later on. Neg Mofo found the stage crowded with the Raucous boys, Kite, Jessie and Tweety, Geo, and tons more singing along. That was definately the highlight. We finished with Papa Smurf and Greenpeace and thought we were done but we were told we had more time so we played a few more.
Raucous played a nice set without any technical snafus for once. I was busy being the social butterfly hanging out with my friends and taking pics. It was good seeing the "silly sisters" again (Nikki & Jo Jo). By the end of the night we officially adopted them and they changes their last names to Sheckie. Was pretty funny getting kissed on the cheek by Jen and Zinah several times while trying to get the camera to work. Saw Greaser Steve for the first time in awhile. Demon was there and once again the first words out of his mouth were "you fucked my sister"! He's a cool dude and I found out later he's getting married and wants us to play the wedding. Was picking on Geo as usual and even said in the middle of a song over the mic "Geo's gonna be as fat as me soon"! I'm sure he went home and cried to Kaluha about it. Overall was a great night and fun time.
