Yesterday was pretty eventful, going from shock to having a great night. A day both weird and wonderful.
First thing, yesterday at work the manager comes up first thing to tell us we have a new chef. Lala got fired! Still can't believe it. Apparently it wasn't management that had a problem with him, it was the board. I mean he could be a knucklehead, but it was a much more fun kitchen to work in then compared to Bill. The new chef came in yesterday to check things out. He's a real laid back, mellow dude named Don. He kinda reminds me of my old chef Bri Bri. Well at least he's a nice guy now we'll just have to see how he handles things. I did get a chance to talk to La last night. He already has a job as a banquet manager at Ocean City Yacht Club. So good for him. No more dopey hip hop in the kitchen at least! I'll still miss the big dope. Hope he keeps in touch.
We wound up having a great band practice where we played some old stuff like "Raining", "I Still Love You", and "Sunlight" which we never play anymore. Also did a bunch of Ramones songs which included "Cretin Hop", "53rd & 3rd", "Commando", "Rockaway Beach", "Surfin' Bird", & "Beat On The Brat". After practice we decided to go down to the Hurricane and see Raucous and maybe get to play.
On the way there we see Vinni & Pinski from Styrofoam Paradise along with Vinni's GF walking down 9. So we stop the van and pick 'em up ala "Old School" to take them to the Hurricane with us. We get there as the Raucous boys showed up. Chuck shaved his beard! wacky! The other band didn't even show up so we wound up playing anyway.
We blew thru a quick set. Had a fun time. Had my hair down and Chuck's blower fan thingy on full blast. Looked straight out of a Metal video. Had a fun time playing. Even threw in "Surfin' Bird".
Raucous started playing but Damian had guitar troubles again. I swear it's at every show anymore. Wound up leaving after that. After a quick Wawa run, we decided to go visit Greaser Steve's Hot Rod place down at the Burleigh sheds. My first time over there and it was great hanging out. The Styrofoam Paradise kids, me, Andy, Tweety, Pancakes, Jen, Zinah, & Pat. I called up Jay from Johnie 3 to get back at all the times those dopes woke me up, but the fucker was up anyway. I was pretty tipsy so I don't remember much more. I kept nodding out and woke up to see 'em all laughing at me. Ah well, it was a fun time!
