Hurricane East, Wildwood, NJ 3/28/06
This wound up being more of a "live practice". There was more staff there than customers. Either way, I had a great time and we played a ton of new songs live for the 1st time. We played the upcoming "Geek Pride" album in it's entirety as well as songs for the album after that, "Punk By Numbers".
The second set we played was almost all covers. "Pollution" wound up as an almost accapella version with just me on drums. We did the "ABC Song" in place of the chorus for "Flower". For our last song Andy played drums, Penny went on guitar, and I attempted to play to play bass. Notice I say attempted.
Ended up getting the most money yet for a Hurricane gig. Figure that. Apparently the old soundguy was taking most of the money off the top. We finally got a decent payout but the sound was sacrificed a bit. The staff is still figuring it out. Still had a fun time.
The owner was playing a ton of 50's songs that we were all loving at the beginning and in between sets. A great night!
Thanks to Murdoch and friends (forgot your names guys, sorry. They're in a band too, we'll be playing a private show with them 4/8) as well as Jen & Pat for coming out. Everyone else who didn't, FU, you missed a fun time! :p
