I've been busy this past week trying to get a Summer mini-tour figured out. We're looking to play all ages shows. Clubs, bars, backyards, basements, doesn't matter. All we're looking for at least is enough money for gas, some food, and a place to sleep. And don't let the pictures scare ya, we won't eat all yer food!
July 10, Monday North Jersey/NYC
July 11, Tuesday New Haven, CT
July 12, Wednesday Providence/Mass
July 13, Thursday New Hampshire
July 14, Friday NY State
July 15, Saturday Reading, PA/Central PA
July 16, Sunday Pittsburgh, PA
July 17, Monday Ohio
July 18, Tuesday West Virginia
July 19, Wednesday Virginia
July 20, Thursday Maryland
July 21, Friday Philly
If anyone wants to help, please get in touch. It would be greatly appreciated!
So far several of our my space friends and bands are offering to help. I know Andy has mailed out a bunch of press kits. Finally having our own van definately helps things out. I don't want to experience the dissapointment we went thru last year when we tried. I think we're far more better prepared this time around.
Joe Queer tried calling both Andy and I Saturday while we were at work. I wonder what that was about? Probably just to shoot the shit. I gotta admit I'm still hoping that talk about producing us is true. Just trying to keep cool about it.
The band hasn't played since the show last week. I'm hoping to practice today. I'm still itching to record the next CD "Geek Pride". We'll probaly have to tighten up a few of them since our little 2 week vacation.
Work is starting to pick up. The golf season is almost upon us, I'm thrilled! *sarcasm mode on* At least it's shaping up to be a fun place to work again. The new chef Carlo or Lala as I call him (his real last name) is turning out to be not bad at all. At least I can still bust his balls like I did when he was just a cook like me. We have a new girl Dawn who started Friday. She'll be the night-time cook. She's only 21, but she picked it right up. I think she'll fit in fine. Another Hip-Hop fan though! Hey, I can listen to it, but I'm trying to ween Lala back to his Deadhead roots. How one goes from Dead to Hip-Hop is beyond me. Surreal to say the least! Check out the CD's I brought in the other day...
Johnny Cash/Willie Nelson - VH1 Storytellers
The Ventures/Dick Dale - Surf comp
Studio One Selector (a CD from Mojo magazine of early reggae/ska/dub)
Grateful Dead - Atlanta 5/19/77
Andy rounded it out by playing Johnie 3 and The Mopes. And yes, we listed to Lala's Hip-Hop station as well. Time for more musical diversity in the kitchen!
