Funny how fast things can change in the wink of an eye. The band is back!
I suggested to Andy that the 3 of us needed to sit down for one last time to say our peace. It was either going to be closure or maybe time to start healing some wounds. There's been a lot of hurt and anger these past 2 weeks. It was time to work on that.
I really didn't know what to expect. I was almost expecting the worse. I did get what I wanted, I had Penny look me right in my eyes and tell me the truth. He's said it was the whole pot deal. I will take him for his word. I also got a real sense of remorse too. I needed to see that as well. I don't approve of what he did whatsoever. But I find it easier to forgive him over that than stealing money from his GF's Mom. He's still a kid, he's made a stupid mistake, but enough is enough. He still has to proove his trust to us. I'm convinced he knows he fucked up. He just can't ever repeat this mistake.
I told him too we need better communication as well. Especially between him and I. I need to feel I can discuss band related stuff with him without him getting pissed off. The main trouble between him and I has always been over the official website. He has worked hard on that, especially changing it all over to that code, whatever it is. But he needs to update it more. It needs more content. This is the place people will go check out. It's pretty sad when you can find more info about us on My Space. He already decided to pay for it on his own this time around. I'm just waiting for the word to cancel the original account.
Oh, there's still a feeling of uncertainty. And I won't rest 100% until I hear the final outcome of his court case. He supposedly has that lawyer working for him now so that might not even come up for a year. It may even get thrown out according to him. Guess we'll see.
We did get our mastered copy of "Generation TV" Saturday. It sounds great, but there was one problem. It was scratched up pretty bad. I managed to save it on the computer, but track 4 (Idiot For You) still has some flutter in the beginning of it. I emailed the place asking for another copy. Hope they hook us up. As far as duplicating it goes, still not sure if we're gonna do it ourselves or pay for it. We'll probaly lean in the DIY direction.
We're even gonna play a show tomorrow night. Hell, I don't even think we're gonna practice for it. I bet we go in cold and still pull it off.
The van is sitting in Andy's driveway. All he has to do is get the paperwork done and it's on the road! We're aiming for putting a small mini-tour together for the Northeast in July. We tried it twice last year, and if you've read this blog long enough you know about the whole Cathouse Records fiasco. That's one thing about this band, we've overcome so many friggin' obstacles already. Nothing will stop us!
Jay from Johnie 3 called me last night. They're still looking for a Philly/South Jersey show for their tour with the Apers. Man, we gotta score that 'coz we could play for sure! I'll get Andy on the case.
I also heard from Joe Queer. I sent him an email to see what's going on. He actually asked for my number. Gave him Andy's too. Jay was saying how he has his own label now. Man, if he's serious about producing us it would be mind blowing for real. Either way I'm not looking for or expecting anything. I'm just glad he's kept in touch.
I'm still looking forward to going back to the studio. "Geek Pride" is ready to go! Maybe we can still work on that while trying to plan this tour.
I did put up the mastered versions of 3 Generation TV songs over on My Space. Go check them out!
