I'm back from two beautiful, humid, mosquito-infested weeks in Vermont. I would have loved to stay longer, but it's probably a good thing that I didn't. My cats have gone almost completely feral, having had the run of the place for a fortnight, and I discovered that there's a water leak somewhere in the wall between my guest bedroom and my neighbor's bathroom. There's nothing like the overpowering stench of mildew to make you glad to be home.
Anyway, I had a blast in VT and got some new ink on my right shoulder (see "NEW TATTOO" in my pics). If you're ever in New England and want to get some body art, I definitely recommend Yankee Tattoo in Burlington, VT. I was lucky enough to get time in the chair with the owner, a nationally-known tattooist by the name of Bald Bill, and he and his staff do excellent work.

Today I had to wake up at 7:45 AM to let a nice fellow by the name of Bill into my apartment so he could chisel out half the wall of my guest bedroom closet (because there's some sort of water leak between my apartment and my neighbor's that's warping the wall and growing mold like a petri dish). Then I've got to take a conference call at 10:00 with the people who make the Myst video games and try to sound coherent, depsite the fact that I've had only 3 1/2 hours of sleep and am still slightly drunk.
On the bright side, I found this:

So it's not all bad.
