I'm going to catch hell for this one, but here goes.......
I have read a lot and heard a lot about the death toll in Iraq, and where I must state now that I do believe that it is tragic and that the world should just learn to get along and accept each others differences, I have to say that we have become a society of dipshits with selective memory and an over zealous desire to be intellectuals. We have lost 1000 great men and women overseas to this horrid conflict, but the big picture still exists. Have the TV anchors and rating whores forgotten that we lost THREE times that many fucking civilians in one day on 9/11? Oh, and how about the Russians who lost almost 1/3 of that in one day at that school? Thats right, its not our problem, dont affect us, why should we care? When I was in the army, I remember vividly how the folks that signed me up drilled it into my head that I may be called to war, and that I could die in combat, but I signed the papers and accepted that as part of the job, part of why I was joining the military. I myself, and EVERYONE that I knew in the army accepted this fact and dealt with it, happy to die if the need arose so that their loved ones would be safe. Any person walking this earth that would dare to call themselves human would sacrifice their life for loved ones. If our soldiers kill, maim or capture just one extremist idiot planning to pull off something like the Russian school or 9/11 and as a result of that it saves innocent lives, then rest assured, these 1000 dead soldiers did not die in vain.
The media is playing both sides of the field for nothing more than ratings and to boost their own careers. On the same page that you read about how tragic it is that we have lost 1000 troops in Iraq, you will read how the Russians are coming together to fight this heinous thing called terrorism, much like Americans came together after 9/11. Too bad we suffer simplemindedness and are easily swayed by the likes of Dan Rather and Connie Chung. Its also too bad that we can never seem to stay together once we "come together". Its funny how we did in every major conflict/war/fight up until Vietnam. And its odd how up until then, every American did not have a fucking television sitting in their house. Can you imagine if we had TV back during the civil war? Oh, we have to stop fighting the south because we have lost 1000 troops, lets just give in to their demands, let them recede, and we just wont have slavery in the north. Let them do what they want down south, it is really none of our business. Or in the American Revolution? Well, King George really did a number on us, we better stop and discuss this before more people die, hell freedom isnt worth this. Perhaps these lecherous fucks at news channel 6 could have prevented us from stopping Hitler as well? Its time to stop being a bunch of easily swayed vidiots and start becoming Americans again. It might be hard for those of you without children to imagine this but try anyway. Imagine dropping you kid off at school one day just like every other day. Except this day, there are a bunch of dickless wonders known as terrorists that storm the school and start knocking off kids simply because they dont believe in capitalism. Plain and fucking simple. Your kid dies because some worthless fuck thinks that by killing your child, he makes a difference. Now imagine having to bury your child, having to go home to reminders like her favorite doll, the macaroni necklace they made you on the first day of kindergarten, his bedroom with all of his toys, clothes, thoughts, hopes and dreams. Where the fuck is Connie Chung now that you need her? Get the fuck over it, SOLDIERS KILL, SOLDIERS DIE. THATS WHAT BEING A SOLDIER IS. The "art" of war, battle is their trade.
People want peace, I know I do, but what I dont want is to hand that piece of shit country over to an extremist power hungry fuck like we just had to oust. If we help them with their government and help create a new ally, then maybe there will be less death and destruction, maybe this will lead to a momentary lapse of war.
