Poetry day, I do not know, I am not your meat and poetry kind of person really, thus the lack of past contributions. Nevertheless, eh, what the fuck. Enjoy

On the primrose path of life
I have stomped on flowers
Spit on the sidewalk
Walked on the grass
Made babies cry and little old ladies run.

On the road to adult hood
I have walked with traffic
Caught rides with strangers
Hitchhiked, picked up hitchhikers
And have been repeatedly reprimanded for speeding.

In the hollowed halls of education
I have squeaked my shoes
Chewed gum set off fireworks
Locked kids in lockers
and, picked fights for no real reason.

In parking lots across this land
I have made out with girls
Lots of them in my day
I have done donuts
And sped off laying tread the whole time.

In my search for the one
I have been a jerk
I have done wrong and been wronged
I have also been a king
And let my kingdom go for a promise.

On the road to your heart
I have journeyed endlessly
Counting the steps, singing a song
I have watched many suns set and rise
And been content to dream.

This is why you cant take me anywhere.
