Finally!
Something worth blogging about.
I have found (with some help) an actual case of ongoing, as we speak raw stupidity unfolding. THe nature of the current World Wide Web having formed in such a way to expose a huge track of human dumbness entirely naturally...
Here's how it's breaking down:
-Read Write Web posts an article about how AOL is merging their interface with the mighty Facebook. How the two Login's will be unified.
-Lazy or ignorant people are typing 'Facebook Login' to get to their Facebook page in to Google. Google ranks up the pages by specific topics and by order of number of visits. THus, when Read Write Webs article his the web it surplanted the actual Login Page as the top hit on Google. Then people, (we'll call them Idiots for ease of indentification) are clicking the first link they see without looking at it and winding up at Read Wrtie Web.
-Granted, we have all done this before at some point, clicked before we looked. It's how most viruses get around. But the kicker is, you scroll down past the article and you see all the comments from outraged Facebookers who now can't find their page, or think Facebook has radically changed their format again, and on and on. It isn't quite obvious at first that that's what is going on until the sheer number of simular posts pile up and you realize people actually think they are on FB because Google took them there. GASP!
It takes poster #50 to finally point it out.
