Last night my open non-committal relationship came to an end, for 18 months now I've been seeing a lass I've known most of my adult life, we both had been single for a couple of years when we got together and neither of us were in the frame of mind to settle down with someone but we really liked each other and decided to embark upon an open relationship, in December she had taken a shine to a guy in her work but after pursuing him for a couple of weeks he told her in no uncertain terms that he was not interested in her, he was happily married and would not put that in jeopardy for a fling with someone he had no attractions to. She was a wee bit upset but his harsh words but accepted she had no chance. Or so I thought. Last night she told me our 18 months seeing each other was over, she couldn't deal with the fact this guy in her work had said no, due to heartbreak emotions she would rather go go from a fun open sexual relationship with me (and yes we did have fun) to a no relationship, no boyfriend, no nothing existence because one guy said no to her. Only last week she was planning our holidays for this year, once I was fit enough to drive all the places we would go to etc. So do I believe her, or am I a chump? Has she found someone else and can't tell me? Which would be strange as we've both seen other people throughout our 18 months. It's never caused any problems before, and I'm not seeing anyone else just now so it cannot be jealousy on her part.
So I guess I'm single once again. The comedy of errors that is my life rolls on.
