MMA Fighter Blog: Some Sparring
This video starts with a half-round (2.5 minutes) of rolling only to warm up. I was warm and tired already (I had just finished lifting and doing cardio not too long before we started to spar), but my teammate hadn't yet, so we decided to roll a bit the first part to get the blood moving and warm up muscles. Following that we decided to do a few rounds of sparring, but with light strikes only; we call it "bitch slapping" because it's just open hand strikes to the face. As you will find out, he doesn't enjoy losing (none of us do, really). However, "anger" (it can come in different forms and for various reasons) doesn't help his situation either. I don't condone what he does that increases his anger, but he's still a teammate and many of my teammates do it. Such a waste in my opinion.
