Just wanted to make a post here about the holidays.
I know that every day it is important to help those that may be in need. Could be anything, like kids need coats, or an elderly person needs a home cooked meal, or someone needs a ride somewhere. I just want to say that if you know anyone around you that may need something to make their day better, please try and help them. The holidays can be a very lonely time of year for a lot of people. Even a kind word helps. Just let them know someone cares. This is important every day, but I think in the spirit of the season, it becomes more important.
We are helping a friend that is having a rough go of it this year. A very sweet and dear lady that recently had to move, and just having a rough go of it. I spent the morning with her yesterday before treatment, and it is always nice to visit. She lives right next door to the hospital I go to for all my doctors, so we do visit frequently. As I say, she is having a tough go right now, after a move and the company charged her 3 times as much as they said in the contract. So, her groceries are a bit low, which we are helping her with. Those of you who know me well, know I just wont let someone be sad or not help them in anyway I can. Luckily, groceries are something we have plenty of, as is conversation and friendship.
So please, take care of those around you. We can talk all day about how this Christmas, or holiday thing is wrong, how Christmas is a commercialized sin, but talking and protesting doesn't do a lot of good. Helping someone does do a world of good, and we all can help in some way.
