so today in class i finally get to learn a technique called "poor boy" lighting and what that is, say you wanted to film two people are a group of people at night on a rural road but dont want to pay for all the equiptment to hook all the shit up to the car and pay for apermit to shut down a lane of traffic, and so on and so on. you park your car in say a large garage and set up your lights then you turn all the lights out except the ones that need to be on and it gives off the effect that the car is driving at night when its in fact standing still.
i love that class, since i switched my degree to cinematography i am blessed to have Ric Wait as my teacher. he was the Director of photography for suck movies as: uncommon valor, 48hours, red dawn, footloose, adventures in babysitting and many more!
it gets me up in the morning! that and a full bladder from drinking the night b4!!
