Man, it's been a while since I updated this crazy critter.
I got into Eugene Lang for creative writing/religious study and University of Toronto for voice with scholarships. Go me! However, I'm still going to McGill because, when it comes to music, McGill>U of T, and Eugene Lang + Living in NYC = Eternal poverty. Look at my math skills.
So, what has been going on lately? I always have these capers that I decide should go into a journal and then promptly forget what I was going to write about.
Oh yeah! I'm back on a quasi-diet. I'm trying to cut down on the processed food and eliminating carby-foods for a while until I'm less bloated. I say this because, since February, I have done nothing but eat. Seriously. The answer to "What did you do this weekend?" would be an itemized list of dishes. I am snack-a-riffic. I think the straw that broke the camel's back was the girl's night I had last weekend. 10 girls managed to eat:
Pasta
Caesar Salad
Cheese Fondue (Watch me spell!)
Chocolate Fondue (x2)
3 Large Pumpkin Pies
Chocolate Cake
Brownies
About a thousand snacky things
Man, by the end of that night of debauchery, I knew I needed to put a damper on things. However, that didn't quell the French, Japanese and Thai food that I had the following week. Can you tell I'm fuckin' hungry? Homemade vegetable soup, while it is delicious, is just glorified pasta sauce. Someone give me a goddamn sponge to chew on or something. Wow, this is really turning out to be more of a 'Fat Girls' post.
I'm really excited because I have been saving up my MAC make-up empties for a long time, and I now have enough of them to get 2-3 free lipsticks as part of the recycling project that they have going on. There is nothing on earth that I love more than the combination of the words 'free' and 'MAC.' I've got my eye on something in either a coral or a pale peach.
In other girly news, I'm also going to treat myself to a manicure/pedicure and a haircut at some point this week because I need some pampering.
I also need some pamprin. OW! Fuckin' cramps.
Lately my kidneys have been hurting like a bitch. I should probably have that looked at. In fact, I should have had that looked at when I went to the doctor about strep throat. Yeah. I have strep. Strep is teh suck.
I've been in a very purchase-y mood lately. I really have a hard on for the Home Movies DVD, the Brak Show DVD and Regina Spektor's entire collection. Suh-woon. I just like buying things in record stores because it reminds me of being 14 and looking forward to release dates and scrounging up enough scratch to buy an album. Speaking of albums, oh man. I got Haughty Melodic today (well, yesterday) and it is a-freakin'-mazing. "Your Misfortune" may become my new favourite song. More on that later.
I should probably (definitely) go to bed. But I pledge to post a bit more frequently. Also, LateEdge's latest post reminded me that I should put up some of the crappy "riot grrrl" lyrics from my way old notebooks. They are funny AND make no damn sense.

Anyway, it's going well, and I'm cutting down a lot on the processed food stuff too.
Your looking back at your last couple of weeks is like the reverse of my life. I totally look forward to food. When I wake up, it's all "what will I have for breakfast." When that's over, it's what's for lunch, and then what's for dinner. I look forward to trips because of the awesome food I will eat. I am so addicted to deliciousness.
And shopping. I used to work in a mall, and totally had the whole "retail therapy" thing going on- you know, bad day at work, go buy a $25 colored mascara I will never use. YAY! Instant pick me up. But very very bad for the cash flow.
I've curbed that a bit, but I still get the urge, although I know it's BAD BAD BAD!
