Sorry that I havent updated in so long. I go in and out of phases where I just don't really feel like writing about anything. Not a huge amount has gone on since I last typed anything in here. I finally got back from Philly and returned to my fairly average life. My singing teacher is on vacation, but when she gets back Im going to actually work on some contemporary stuff. I mean, Ive been building up my repertoire for such a long time, and now that Im pretty much done of all of my auditiony stuff I need a little break. Its not that I dont love classical music, its just that singing liede/melodie/old italian song after liede/melodie/old italian song can get a bit tedious. Maybe I can find an aria that I hadn't thought about singing before... Hmmmm...
So, I thought I would have wireless internet in here, but it turns out that its just one of those cock teasing we have wifi... but only if you subscribe to company x or are willing to spend 29.99 on your card to get a months worth of access. types of places. And they didnt even have any of the bocconchini and pesto sandwiches left... Damn you, Java U. Oh well. I dont care that its a huge hipster-populated chain... The coffee is good. And USUALLY there are really good sandwiches... Pfft. Ive settled on a poor replication: tomato, lettuce, bocconchini and red pepper on a tortilla... Bleh. It tastes like a crappy excuse for a quesadilla. Hipster quesadilla! God save you from the hipster quesadilla! It will bury you all! Uhhh... Wow. Sorry about that.
I love walking along Monkland. For a while, I had to (or felt I had to, rather) keep a kind of low profile on this street because I used to work in a little boutique here and quit without much notice and ran out to go to California. So I used to try to be all stealth (oh, using words borrowed from Seth on the OC... Why have I sunk so low?) and sneak along by the grocery store. It was really kind of sad. Luckily, most of the good stuff on Monkland is in the few blocks above it, but I still have to go past it if I feel like getting bagels or Ben and Jerrys, and those are things that I feel like getting an awful lot. But I guess I got over my fear of getting caught by the proprietors of that God-awful tacky choir-teacher attire depository. Im really happy that I dont work there anymore.
Now I'm back and watching some quality episodes of Law and Order: SVU, which is by far the best cast show on television. Swoon for all of them. Seriously. Even Munsch. It freaks the shit out of me, but I'm addicted to it. I'm sure I've seen the vast majority of the episodes, but I still get shocked by them like it's the first time. I love all Law and Order, though. I was watching it in French today. And French ER. I love drama in any language. French comedy sucks, though. S-U-C-K-S.
Today I was listening to a bunch of gospel inspired musical theatre. I'd love to learn the conventions of gospel-style keyboarding and start writing, or at least work on changing existing songs into gospel-y covers. Is that weird?
I drank cappuccino today, and I burnt my tongue. Now I'm going to relax and watch "Bananas."
