It's been a damn long while since I've had the desire to write anything at all worthwhile. Well, that's not true, but I usually stop a few thoughts in and go do something more productive. Luckily, my groceries are put away, my laundry is folded, the dishes are done and everything is tidy and adorable and as it should be.
So, what can be said? I'm single now, after a year and a few months with Mark. It's too bad that things didn't work out, but there was something fundamentally flawed in our relationship, or so it seems. We make good friends, so that's good. That's how this all started out, anyways.
I put on a shit ton of weight this past year, but I've got about 2/3 of it off, and I'm working towards being a little skinnier than I started out. Just enough so that I feel comfortable in a bikini. I also took some extremely vain pictures.

In the process, I've been cooking like a mad woman. I've made fake butter chicken, chick pea salad, tomato spinach bean stew, roasted eggplant and red pepper parmesan, baked squash, fake chicken soup and more salads than you could shake a stick at. I love feeling motivated to cook. Also, cleaning seems to go hand in hand with cooking, so my apartment looks amazing right now.
Even though I really love it here at times, my crazy downstairs neighbour and lazy landlord have made living here kind of impossible. Plus, as much as I love the village at times, it's made for old Quebecois gay men, which definitely isn't an accurate way to describe me. I'm going to end up further north, either in Mile End around Parc/St. Urbain or further west towards Laurier metro. It's just so magical there somehow. It's always been my favourite place to walk around, so I look forward actually being able to claim some kind of temporary ownership. I have loved my roommates this year, even if I was hardly ever here, but I'm really looking forward to moving in with my new roommate. Having just one other person will be an interesting and hopefully more laid back experience.
I'll be in Montreal this summer taking theory, piano and German, so I'll have the entire place to myself, which will be great. I've got a lot of furniture and design ideas, so I'm pretty much all set for a summer of fun and relaxing. Plus, a number of my friends will be in the city this summer, so there'll be a little more going on than last year.
I'm really falling in love with the colour yellow. I know that sounds odd, but I'm wearing this yellow tank top and I can't get enough of it. It's so spring-summery. I can't wait until I fit into all of my cute summer dresses from back in high school so I can strut around on hottie walks, which are arguably the best walks. Any time when you feel like a hottie is bound to be a good time. But yeah, yellow, black and white are definitely going to be heavily in my pallette this season. It's such a hipster stereotype, but I went to American Apparel the other day and I totally fell in love with putting a black shift dress type thing over a white tee with a little yellow belt. Now I just need to acquire riches. But how?
Things that I LOVE right now:

I'm applying for a job at Lush, which would be AMAZING. I was able to live off my earnings after I quit my job (which ended up being WAY too much responsibility for someone with next to know marketing experience) for a damn long time, but cash is getting tight and I need a job. Lush would be perfect, since I'm fairly well-versed in their products and I'm an all around friendly girl with fairly decent French. Besides, I'd look smokin' hot in one of those aprons.
I've been loving bands/artists like Islands, Architecture in Helsinki, Jose Gonzalez, Wolf Parade, Final Fantasy, Joanna Newsom and Lily Allen lately. Music is always here to get me out of a funk.
It's been a slow thaw.

Altough I don't look so great in Yellow, I'm too 'browny' for that.
Nevertheless, enjoy your summer
