Okay. I was supposed to be back in Toronto tonight, but something happened (possibly the wussiest storm in existance) and Air Canada grounded all of their planes headed out of Philadelphia. As a result, there were no hotels with rooms for under 300 American dollars anywhere near the airport or in the downtown. Somehow, after calling every hotel I could think of, I ended up...

Up the date, kids. (Update.)
My hair is really soft today and I'm not wearing any make up at all, which is a fairly unusual thing for me. It's not that I feel that I'm bad looking or anything without make-up, it's just sort of a force of habit type thing. That and I'm a girly as a little bitch and I put shit like...

"dancing around all skankoriffic with a bunch of ladies" is one of my favorite things to do. Ever.

I have been listening to some mainstream rap recently...i feel you.
I'm in the Starbucks in the lobby of the Philly Marriott because it's the only place in this godforsaken hotel with wireless, and I can't figure out how to use the in-room cord-y internet. I miss NYC so much. The hustle, the bustle, the beautiful people, the things to look at and the places to walk around. That is my kind of city. Don't get...

"snooty geezers" - that made me smirk. and i haven't 'smirked' in a while... smirking is good; we should all smirk more.

I had my various theory/sight singing/dictation exams and my interview today, and they all went surprisingly well. I'd be put in fundamental level for theory (which is fine and dandy for a vocalist, as we're renound for being theory impaired) but I actually did quite well on the dictation and sight singing.
With the dictation, it was a large room with people applying to all...

I'm in town auditioning for Mannes School of Music through the New School University for classical voice. Ever since I was 9 years old, opera has pretty much dominated my life because I was lucky enough to be part of a choir that supplies the children's choruses for every major opera company, dance company and symphony in Toronto.

Break both legs, sweets. And stop by if you're in SoHo.

crazycentaur:
Good luck. Break a leg. Have a lot of fun.
Okay. Once again, I am in a nice suburb of Procrastination, Iowa. I'm leaving for NYC tomorrow to do a whole bunch of auditions, look at student living areas and see muthafuckin' Avenue Q, bitches! (If I could count the times I've sung "Mix Tape", maybe I wouldn't have gotten a 54% on my math finals the last year I took it.)
I should probably...

My fave joint is Teany, on Rivington Street, between Orchard and Allen. Kate's Joint on Ave B and 4th Street is great people-watching. I have a fondness for Veselka, a Ukrainian joint, on Second Ave and 9th Street, best pierogies in Manhattan. Vegetarian Dim Sum, on Doyers Street, great dim sum. (these are mostly veggie joints--I'm not veg though--is that weird?)
A long stroll up Central Park West, in the 70's-80's-90's, is a must for me. Also Bedford St in Williamsburg.
Yours in Small Rock,
Mike

Oh my sweet little baby Jesus. I want to FUCK the finale of Jason Robert Brown's musical "Parade." If I could go through every day with the amazing feelings that I get from listening to this song and a few select others ("Idiot Kings" by Soul Coughing, "Sunkeneyed Girl" by Mike Doughty, "Academy Fight Club" by Mission of Burma, "Sunset on 32nd" by Strike Anywhere...

"Leap into the boundless and make it your home."
Chuang-Tzu could be saying one of two things:
"Jump head first into the depths of life and call me when you find joy."
OR
"Spend your life in limbo because it's less scary than taking risks."
Maybe I'm just really bad at processing Taoist texts, but I'd go with the first choice.

Oh baby, I'm typing this from the comfort of my brand new laptop. It's a 14 inch iBook and BOY is it ever fast! I've got the wireless internet happening and everything is working so nicely. I grew up in a very technically slow to adapt family, so we didn't get a computer until I was in the summer of the 7th grade, but when...

I like short and busty too. Not on me though, on other people.

Looks like a fun list to make, but my own procrastination prevents me from doing so... instead I will click aimlessly until I am too tired to stay awake.
I love being short and busty. The short part allows me to get into movies as a child, saving me over 5 bucks. The busty part has allowed me to do all sorts of adult things since I actually WAS a child. I saw Hitch tonight, and it was surprisingly funny and sweet. I didn't have high expectations going in, as it was just a...

Ahh... I love Mike Doughty. His shows are great.
Just a quick little update because I have to scoot myself out the door. I've been wearing my glasses a lot again, and I think I look damn hot. I also got my hair trimmed, so my bangs are looking much more precise. Uh, I'm done Satanic Verses, and it was a really good book. Other than that, I'm looking at getting my navel pierced,...

So yea, I figured you probably saw me in one of our mutual groups, and I noticed you liked M. Doughty.
Now you see, there's a small problem with "adorable" and "cute", most girls seem to think that things like this,
are "cute" and "adorable", when everyone knows that they're some of the ugliest creatures on the face of this planet. I rest my case
Oh, I'll stop now. Nice to meet you too!
my clunky black glasses just got clunkier!
