so awhile ago i made a poster for hot topic about shoplifting which you can see here. it was just something they asked me to do, and so i thought it would be a good way to kill some time drawing a monster. so a couple months ago they said that there is a contest that they run every year where all the stores submit posters and they pick the 12 best to go on a 'loss prevention calendar'. so i figured what the heck and had them submit. low and behold i found out i won the other day. woo hoo for me. so as my prize i get $100 gift certificate to hot topic. a very nice gesture, but i'm really an easy person to please clothing-wise - i pretty much have 3 pairs of pants and various thrift store shirts - and i'm not in the habit of buying cd's very much, so i was sort of mystified as to what exactly i could spend my money on. $111.83 later i had used up the card plus another $10 gift certificate. not a bad haul, got the new afi (which i really like despite what anyone else says about it), old afi, new cky, norma jean, new converge (the b-sides from petitioning), thursday's full collapse (i listened to the burned copy so much i felt obligated)...and then the real gems.....first off i bought all american rejects. even though i hate myself for liking it, i can't get over how goddamn catchy it is, so oh well, it's my guilty pleasure, and then for the real catch i happened to find limp bizkit's first album in the clearance bin! can you believe they would put such a quality band in CLEARANCE?!?! that's a travesty of music, folks. so ah well, i got that to put back in my collection for next to nothing. top it off with a new studded belt and the AP with the Donnas on it, and i'd say not a bad haul. and it only ended up costing me $1.83.....FOR LIMP BIZKIT!
OOOOH, MORE ADDED STUFF!!!
And one more thing, my roommate, Matt, has just signed up today for SG. Everyone go give him a hug.
