Ahhh, haven't posted in a wee while eh? Well I'll fill ya all in... After an incident over the liberal application of Vegemite on my breakfast toast Sarraz and I moved out of the parent's house and got ourselves our own place again. Wow how I've missed having our OWN space. We packed and moved in a day then unpacked and clean on the very next. The place is amazing: 1 bedroom apartment right over the road from a pretty good supermarket. There's a pizza joint, liqour store, sushi spot, noodle house and vege mart about 100m up the road too. There's a beautiful park right over the road too which we've been running in the last couple of mornings. I literally could go on about how awesome this place is for hours... and hours...
Work wise, well, I haven't been this busy ever I don't think. I'm going from album mix job to album mix job to trying to squeeze in mastering sessions in downtime to fixing peoples dud DDP files to... again, the list goes on. One of the records I mixed recently has been met with some acclaim too (5 star review in one of the major music mags in NZ, Real Groove). I wasn't even happy with that one sonically when I handed it over either... Oh well, such is life.
I'm about to finish working on 3 demo mixes for P Money to take to the UK to help sweeten some label deal he's wrangling over there. The tracks are quite cool. Sophisticated Urban House would be an apt description I feel. Imagine Daft Punk meets Justin Timberlake... After this I'm packing the whole studio down and moving across town for a big 6 week album mix with the Shapeshifter kids. It's gonna be real fun as we have a whole house to setup in and it's a mere 5 minutes walk from my new place...
Anywhooo, I'll keep ya all posted on progress. Bi Bi!

Yeah, he is wicked with the covers. I saw him do Teardrop live when he opened and then performed for Zero 7... it was fantastic.
