I was tagged a couple of times by members to fill out @dicentra's SG questionnaire, so I thought why not?
1. What made you want to join SG?
It was a different time, and people weren't chronically online like we are today. I was already pretty active on LiveJournal and when I saw a photo of Quinne, I looked the site up. I actually joined and forgot about my subscription for a few months. I had been charged and I went back and never stopped.
2. How much do you use the website in your day to day life?
More than you'd think but also less than you think. Because I'm doing this for work, even on weekends I tend to check in and make sure there aren't any fires to put out.
Back in the day, I used it much more frequently. Groups were way more active. People were leaving each other comments and messages. I had friends that I could really only talk to on here. We didn't have all these other social media accounts to follow each other.
3. How much does SG mean to you?
I guess it's honestly part of my adult identity. Some of my very closest friends I never would have met otherwise. Because I worked conventions for SG, I got a job at SGHQ in LA back in 2014. Because I worked at SGHQ, I learned social media management/marketing skills and tour booking skills. Because of this, I got jobs doing social media marketing for different cosmetics companies. Because I had a horrible experience there, I moved to Texas. Because I moved to Texas, I got a part time job at a venue. Because I started working at that venue, I finally went back to finish my marketing degree. Because I finished my marketing degree, I got a full time marketing position at my venue. Literally, everything can be traced back to SG and that's insane to me.
4. How can you be more involved in the community?
I mean, I could sit here and say I could try to help with engagement in our groups but honestly, I am so disheartened sometimes. I have tried so hard. Making sure models aren't spamming the groups. Making sure the groups had moderators (which like, lol. some of the moderators don't even log in anymore so that is a full time problem). Trying to engage with the members who actually DO spend time on the site.
So here's a challenge for any one who is reading this - JOIN A NEW GROUP. REPLY TO THE THREADS. START NEW ONES, IF THEY ACTUALLY APPLY TO THE GROUP. VOLUNTEER TO LEAD A GROUP. ENGAGE.
5. What would you like to see change?
I'd love to see the engagement on the site go up. I'd love to see people be more active. I'd love to see less self promotion for OnlyFans, honestly. I'd love to see people follow the rules and have respect for each other. I'd love to see new sets that are thoughtful and creative and interesting, not casual cosplay or pretty girl on bed. But that's just me. I'd love to log in and see people blogging again. I'd love to see some of my friends come back.
6. What are the things that make you want to stay?
It's my job. For a few years, when I stopped working for SGHQ in LA, I stopped logging in.
7. What content would you want to see more of?
See my answer to number 5.
8. How likely are you to come back once your subscription runs out? (For people who do pay, obviously.)
I'm here for the long haul, in ways you'll never know.
