So the Trash Film Orgy was cool, it was nice seeing Return of the Living Dead on the big screen. Unfortunetly since my friends decided we should head there late, I missed the zombie walk. So yeah, no pics. Oh well, maybe next year.
So on Sunday I finally got back up to Metropolis Comix to pick up some books. Picked up WildC.A.T.s #1 and 2 (since I gave my original copies, along with virtually all my Image comics away during the great comic revolt of '95), Hack/Slash: The Final Revenge of Evil Ernie, Hack/Slash meets Zombies vs Cheerleaders, and Suicide Girls #3.
They didn't have issues 1 and 2 of Suicide Girls, so I just put an order in for them and will make it a monthly pull. I had went up to the comic shop one of my friend's sister (the same friend a month or so ago I had mentioned didn't like SG), which was odd spending time with her, but she's friends with the shop owners so whatever. While we were there, she kept telling me about this friend of her's that was gonna show up. How this chick was all tatted and into SG, which I thought was just swell. Of course this girl is attractive and was looking to pick up an issue of the SG comic, which I thought was rad. We chatted for a bit before I got sidetracked by the Super Street Fighter IV tournament going behind us. Eventually she and my friends sis started talking about private matters, so I just went back to browsing, when I heard them mention the girls boyfriend. I think I actually laughed out loud, though I'm sure they didn't know why. Because of course she has a boyfriend. I'm not that lucky. Cool chick though. I should see if she's a member.
After that another friend and I went to what is now my new fave place to go, Burgers and Brew. The food is good and they have a great selection of beers (though not the largest in Sac), which they serve in the appropriate glassware. Plus they have Chimay White on tap.......ON TAP! Sure it's not Chimay Red, but still. I only had three beers since my first was a 9% strong ale made by Lagunitas. Second brew was Grimbergen Double Ale, a pretty good Belgian beer.
Lastly, I went with something quite different in Hitachino Nest XH.
This a really odd beer. Its matured in sake casks, which give it a bit of a sake scent and flavor. But I could taste malts, spices, and some citrus as well. Definitely a weird beer, but I dig it.
One last thing and I'll end this. I went up to Burgers and Brew with a female friend of mine, whom I've known for about six years and been hanging out on a one on one basis for the last four. She's a really cool chick, and shares a lot of the same interests as me, like mma and a love of good beer for example. She's pretty cute too, though I get the sense she doesn't think she's attractive. I don't mention this because I have a crush on her or anything (not that dating her hasn't crossed my mind), I just find it amusing that when I find girls whom are like minded there is always some obstacle. The girl I met at the comic shop I guess is one thing because she already has a boyfriend, with my friend is another. I suppose I'm the obstacle in that scenario. Maybe if I didn't have a deep fear of ruining friendships by dating female friends (which I have to awful results) I'd say something to her. Eh, if I was a different kind of person these things would depress me, but since I'm a pessimist I figure this how it should be.
Through this typing process I was listening to music, which is set to random, and this song played during my typing of the last two paragraphs. Which I thought was amusing.

And I totally feel you on the female friend dating bit. It's frustrating because so often you befriended them because of how much you had in common. Feelings just come after as you begin to consider them outside of the 'friend zone'. It's tough to breach the topic, but definitely worth keeping in mind, on the off-chance the opportunity arises.
