who the hell am I?

its the question du jour, everyday. lately it seems this monday through friday, nine to five, is draining away all sense of myself. the rows of isolating cubicles, the "friendships" hammered out in emails and IMs in which uncertainty seems as ever-prevalent as entropy, rendering every sentence a site of possible double meaning, the pervasive normality of my coworkers...and coming...

huck:
are we not dealing with a false dichotomy here? i mean, does it have to be one or the other? you could stay together indefinitely without getting married; is that not an option?

the problem is that marriage is two things to two genders, i guess.
mneylu:
Did i send you my plato stuff yet? :S
Im a bit behind.
If i didnt mention this already- i do read hieroglyphics for sure.. for hours a day frown/ smile

here's the first piece in an upcoming collaborative chapbook I'm working on:

zoom in

amputee's embrace amidst (slagheap city bared rebar of buildings twisted into nervetrees) a
battle between cannibals (rough singing of limbgrind twisting, interweaved, growing in blackblood pool)

cast for broken bones (the slagheap
shudders, distant heartmurmur of steelbeasts'
growling passage),

dictionary of tongues' (dreams)
escape into that (darkmatterbody, wombs of stars whispering...

that sucks, although I get that feeling from time to time also. You have to do what's right for you! I pay a year at a time so when I get bored or tired of it I just don't visit much.... usually feel better when I return.
Hope your not gone too long.
kellymonster:
I am happy that you are sneaking back and lurking a little. I miss your blogs though, when will we get another installment? How are things?

Thanks for the birthday wishes. Self-pity has been removed from the menu and replaced with botox (I'm kidding, honest!)

Goodbye pretty pictures...: (

Happy Labor Day!!! It's the first one I've ever had off in my employed history, so I actually get to be happy about a day devoted to us proles and wage-slaves. There aren't enough of these days - and I honestly believe that everything but hospitals, police stations, banks and government offices should be closed today. Of course, its our poor...

"silent letters in the english language are, of course, pointless. it's a letter that you see but you don't pronounce, and...why?! if we're going to have silent letters we should have invisible letters too, yeah? letters that you can't see but have to pronounce." - izzard, live @ the ambassadors biggrin

german food? seriously? i never would have imagined. i'll try to seek it out.

i want waits to hurry up n die so i can organise a kickass tribute show. ok, i'd rather he didn't die - ever - so maybe i'll do it on his birthday or something. i would call it greetings from sunny pomona: an evening of music by and for tom waits. wink

i wondered why you've been rare in the upc lately; now i know. when did you last produce a poem? and what's the chapbook all about? i'm editing/compiling zak's collection at the moment, and i could really get used to this publishing lark. smile
huck:
i think the people who are negative about your work are reluctant to be more specific in their criticism because then they would be asking you to change your style altogether: they just don't get it. you're probably the most advanced writer of the group; unfortunately what comes wth that is a lot of um-ing and ah-ing from those still catching up, which i appreciate is frustrating and useless, but that's life. "and that's poetry!" ha. anyway, you have a fan right here, for sure.

The new job is tres, tres bizarre...

seeming unending silent rows of cubicles, everybody plugged into their iPod pounding away at the keys, spilling falsities of language denied even the status of lies by utter absence of belief, security keys needed for entrance and exit, all emails available to everyone and almost everything communicated via these, outside the dead of night roaring with distant sussurance...

I'm never fully happy enough with anything to sell it. And then there was a big accident while moving out of my studio into my house and most everything was damages. So now, I have a month wait til school begins, I once again take up the role of lab assistant, and can re-glaze everything in hopes of saving some pieces.
However, I'm making new molds right now and will have a new series by the end of fall. I'll post updates as things get moving again. smile

oh well, i guess i am lucky then. Although of course i still want to go back to my other big lifelong love: fashion journalism..... i miss my fashion editing days, boy i do.

And i have this slight problem when trying to speak about things that are important to me: i break out into uncontrollable tears and just cant say a word. Truth is i am so much better with the keyboard... But He has read that post, and i figure sooner or later we will have to discuss the matter, specially because i got a call to travel to the south of the country to perform in the end of the month. Things are getting serious, yes they are. A bit scary, one must confess.

i plan on tattooing that arm, as not to cut it anymore. Maybe it will help... to write: "And never be afraid again".

thanks a lot. You're a doll.

kiss

Do you ever have one of those days that really make you wish you WEREN'T in an extremely loving, long-term, ridiculously comfortable, exclusive relationship? Despite all those perks (not the least of which is knowing that there's someone who really cares about you - even all those concerns that wouldn't mean fuck-all to your partner were it not for the fact that they're yours -...

So, is anyone else absolutely hating the new homepage interface? I feel like SG has decided that every time we've all finally gotten used to how a certain set-up works, they'll go ahead and change it. Is there some algorithm they used to determine how quickly a particular system becomes familiar, and schedule all changes on the basis of its predictions? Are they afraid that...

Hehe, no kidding. I don't think I will ever get married for real, cus that'd be SO conventional. whatever

Marrying a relative would work... I just have to find somebody with the same last name as me for the implication, I think. Sam Roberts would be a good one for that, cus he's famous AND possibly related!
