Ok, I *must* tell you of the food I ate the other night. My friend Malia asked if I wanted to have dinner at this friends house. She said Its going to be Japanese food; hes from Japan. Ok, well he is Japanese, but it was no gyoza. I was disappointed when I saw salad and pork and asparagus. The disappointment lasted until I took my first bite. This kid is an amateur chef to rival the greats whoever they are (??). This salad had all kinds of tomatoes and oils and spinach and stuff yeah, it had bacon and Im not proud of that, but damn was it a good salad. The main course was asparagus, polenta, a side of mushrooms and these little pork cutlets I know, shut up about the pork, ok? It was simple, but the best food Ive ever tasted. I wanted seconds and thirds, but I didnt really know anyone there and I pretty much invited myself.
Oh, and there was Dr. Pepper and lemonade chilled on the verge of being icey.
I guess its hard to describe it; you just had to be therebut that polenta was soooo gooood!!!!!
Damn, I think I look young until I see this photo of me in 1995. Thats me on the left right after a Peter Murphy concert at the Crest in Sacramento. I forgot I even had an MP3 account. This is a work for trumpet and electronics I did a few years ago.
