Ok. Time for a new post.
Damn, I'm glad the Holidays are over!!
I used to love it as a kid. Hell, I'd probably still love it, but for the fact that it's just way over-commercialized now. Too much "You have to <fill in the blank>!" And commerce keep pushing it on us earlier and earlier each year. Used to be you did'nt see christmas goods til after Thanksgiving. Now they start before Halloween!
Enough of my grousing! I sound like an "Old Fart"!
Time for more positive things.
Since my last post, I've done something to help me control my finances better. Well, two things that have the same result in the end. I've gone with direct deposit with my paycheck.
Hopefully, by not getting my check cashed right away and having it go directly to my bank account, I won't be tempted to spend as frivolously as I used to.
I've also started a Christmas Club account again (with my bank this time, and not our company's credit union.) And it's directly taken out of my check via direct deposit as well. I'm putting back $30 a week. So by the time it rolls around again, I should get a check for around $1500! Believe me, most of that is going toward paying off my credit cards.
That's sort of my New Year's Resolution. (Even though I resolved to do this back before my last post.)
With a little help, I will be paying off those damn things! Mark my words!
In other news, the fellow I mentioned in my last post has just gotten worse. But there is good news. Management has realized just how much of a slacker/loser this kid is, and has promised me that they'll be taking him off my hands. (Knowing Mangement, I don't know how much of it to believe, but I'm remaining hopeful)
I wish it did'nt have to be this way, but this kid just isn't going to cut it. You can't reach him whatsoever. So he has to go. Maybe he'll learn something from this.
Oh, if you know just how much of a nerd I am, you should have predicted the following bit of news.
I've started playing World of Warcraft. It's fun. I'll leave it at that.
Anyway. That's all from me. Can't think of anything else that's new.
Maybe I'll have something more interesting next time. No promises though.
Later my friends.

I did not write that article. As per header, it was written by a farmer named Joel Salatin. I'm not a father, nor is my baby son getting married and thus causing me to want to build my retirement hut.
