Why do they always have a boyfriend?!
*sigh*
A new girl started working with us a few weeks back. She transfered from Benton actually, and has been working for the company for five years (I'll be there ten in October) And when I first met her, we really hit it off. It's really rare that I find someone that I "Click" with, y'know what I mean.
She's interesting to talk to.
She actually got my jokes, and did'nt give me that blank stare that so many locals do.
She's smart, funny, attractive. She's great!
But I found out she's going to have to quit because of scheduling conflicts with her other job.
Last night was the last night that she and I would be working together, and so, I had resolved the other day to go ahead and casually ask her out.
We talked last night, and she asked me if I would be working Thursday. I told her I was off, and she noted that this would be the last night we would work together, and she gave me a hug. She's barely known me for more than a couple of weeks, and yet she felt that comfortable with me
(that may not seem like much to you out there, but I'm not used to people connecting with me)
She told me she'd still be around, and we'd see each other still. And I said "Unless we went out together. Would you like to go out sometime?"
What she said next kinda impressed me.
She said "I would if I did'nt have a boyfriend!"
Encouraging and yet Disappointing at the same time. Ladies, if you ever want to let a nice guy down easy and still want him to feel good about himself, that's the line to use.
Still, to use the phrase some hillbillys here in "Dogpatch" would use, If I had my 'druthers..."I'd still rather she had said yes.
Oh well. What can you do but keep on trying.
Later my friends.
