For some reason here lately, I've become addicted to Wikipedia!
I've used it for general reference before. When I wanted to know more about a subject, I'd look it up there.
But lately I've been using it more and more. And I'll spend a couple of hours following all the related links in the article I've looked up.
For example:
I made myself Eggs-In-A-Basket for Breakfast this morning, and I was just curious what Wikipedia had to say on it. It made a refernce that it was also sometimes called Toad-In-The-Hole, and BOOM....I spent three hours this morning on British Cuisine!!
I read up on Toad-In-The-Hole, Jellied Eels, Pork Faggots, Cornish Pasties, Bakewell Tarts, Spotted Dick, Cottage Pie, Pork Pie, Christmas Pudding, Victoria Sponge, Mushy Peas, Marmite, Clotted Cream, Scones, Cream Tea, etc., etc., etc.,....just any link I could follow, I did and just started absorbing! And I don't know why!! Curiosity maybe??
I've been learning more serious stuff from it too, like History, Botany, Zoology...but really only the stuff I'm interested in or curious about. Like Stone Age Celts, Plant origins of the Americas, etc.
It just seems like I can't help but soak up Trivial information.
Sounds pathetic I know, but I'm having fun!
Ok. I've bored you enough. If you've read all, or in fact any of this, I do apologize for my endless prattle. Don't let it scare you.
Later my friends.
