I'm too enraged right now to write a socially-acceptable entry. In short, I can't remember EVER an instance when an appointed official (shrub) took such apparent glee in the tragedy which has befallen this nation. The stupid fuck couldn't legally be re-elected, 'cause he lost the first election. He was appointed by the Supreme Court, in a flagrant violation of its own charter.

This government...

Hmmmmm... Finally some relaxation. Had to resign from my volunteer job yesterday, and have mixed feelings about it. I've been working with at-risk/street/homeless teens in Portland for a few months now, but it seems I'm a little too open about myself and my background. In my previous at-risk teen work, I'd always just been myself and that was enough. Not so here. frown The job was...

Pretty long, but might be interesting to some...

Hi all... I've been posting some intensely anti-recreational-drug rants on Tribe lately and have been accused of ignorance and hypocrisy. So, I've opted to share a post on my SG journal. Allow me to explain where this vitriol comes from. I've basically had two phases of drug abuse in my life: as a teen, and from 10/02...

Prescription drugs are scary, scary things.

For a short period this last year during my depression they helped me immensely...if not for the crazy side-effects. I didn't sleep on my own for five months without ambien to help. I lost ten pounds. Then they tried to put me on depakote which I hated. That only lasted a month because I wanted my mind back.

I don't think pysch drugs are inherently bad but one should be wary of becoming dependent on them. I know they help me a lot for a short window of time.

YAY!!! I'M AN UNCLE!!! blush blush blush blush

My little sister had her first baby last night, and I'm tickled plaid! Zac Larson entered this world at 6:33 pm, and almost as monstrous as his loving uncle was: 8 lbs, 10 oz. According to my mom, I was 8-14, but Katy had a moose of her own...

Some of you know I'm a pretty severe bipolar, and I'm prone...

This is just silly... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8973616/

I mean hell, iBooks are cool, but COME ON PEOPLE!!! I've been a Mac consultant and evangelist since '89, and I'm sure this is one of those events that has Steve Jobs going.. "uh, we didn't really mean them to be THAT popular..." eeek eeek eeek

Shameless plug: if you're in the Portland area and need some Mac work done, I'm around and...

I completeley agree with you about how ghosts are more often leftover negative energy.

I think this is more likely than to say you saw a woman in white at the top of the stairs or something. Real mystical things like I was talking about and like you refered to are more subtle and energy-based. Often when I've felt a disturbance, the source is a little mass of energy moving around and making noise.

Does this make sense? Thanks for the insight again...and for the poetry. Sorry I haven't critiqued it yet.

Okay, okay... It's just a "thingy." I'll live without one for awhile. Referring to my recently-stolen car CD player. Just seriously pisses me off when someone thinks they have the right to rob someone else of a personal item. My life is music, and having to drive with just the sounds of the road is almost unbearable. I'll get through it, though...

GODDAMNIT!!! My car is filthy and a piece of shit, and I like it to stay that way. I thought it might deter assholes from breaking in, but no such luck. Some dickhead jimmied my door and ripped off my CD player, a $50 check, my insurance paperwork and left a shitload of fingerprints. Hope the motherfucker has a record, 'cause if I find who...

wow, that was a beautiful comment you left in my journal.

What struck me most about it though is that I wasn't aware that bipolar disease had a connection to vivid and lucid dreams. I was diagnosed as being "cyclothymic" this past year and never really connected to the two things.

I recently did a literary research paper about Freud and the prophecy of dreams. While I agree most current literature on the subject is crap, I like to see where the intellect meets the mystical.

Very interesting web-thingy I did recently. I'm on the Bipolar tribe (on Tribe.net), and someone posted a link for an online inkblot test. It's quick to do (10 minutes maybe), and I'm really surprised at how accurate the results are. The site is here: web.tickle.com/tests/inkblot/ My results are pretty telling, and I'm only posting 'em because they're spot-on..

Urk! frown It really shouldn't be so hard for me to get a date... Sure I'm a bit selective (okay, picky), but still. Maybe I'm just asking the wrong girls. Had three rejections today (although they were all sweet about it), and it's still annoying. Maybe I'm just not meant to have a love life any longer... <insert self-pity here> Of course, the one girl I...

Okay kids, this is getting ridiculous! I used to love a hot climate (San Diego was blissful), but Portland in the summer is unbearable. It's not the heat so much, but the humidity. I'm checking with my doc today to see if this is a heat rash, 'cause I've never had one before. I'm itching like a freak! blackeyed The fan in my room is just...

just opened up on livejournal... Mostly a place for me to post commentary on the more irritating things that concern me (republican politics, religious aberrations, etc.), but occasionally I wax poetic. If you're curious...
