I haven't heard anything about the job yet. I am kind of thinking this means they decided not to hire me but I really hope I am wrong. If I don't hear from them tomorrow I will call on Friday to check. I really want this job. I can't even explain how bad I want it and to get out of the library. In a desperate attempt to get out of at least my location I am doing something I said I would never do. I am going to apply for a promotion. I've been promoted before but this would be management. It would mean more money and a new location. I could always do it until I find something else. Right now I'll take just about anything that pays enough. Too bad I am too shy to be a stripper.
So I saw Aerosmith last night. Lenny Kravitz canceled due to "laryngitis"... uh huh, sure. Anyway, Aerosmith was great. Joe Perry still looks good although he is much changed and not as hot as the last time I saw them (the Get A Grip Tour). Now I must tell you my Aerosmith story...
My sister took me to the show after my Mom surprised me with tickets. She'd been telling me I was too young to go.
Anyway, we get there and our seats are one row away from the back wall in the highest section available. During the opening act I pull out my step-dad's binoculars, they are bigger than my face and very heavy. I was getting the focus just right and all so that when Aerosmith came out I'd be all ready. After the openers went offstage this guy comes up to my sister and says "You guys all here together?" My sister tells him its me and her and not the guy behind us whos been hitting on my sister since we sat down. The guy says "Well I saw your sister's binoculars from across the stadium", everyone laughs, then he says "How'd you like to sit close enough to not need them?". I look at my sister who looks at me and we're thinking we have another freak hitting on her. My sister says that she is sure I'd enjoy that but that we didn't want to buy/trade any tickets. The guy pulls out a pass and says he is "with the band". My eyes get very wide at this point I'm sure. My sister and the guy behind her are saying "Wow you're for real? You're giving up these?" He says "Yep, want some backstage passes too?" I am about to explode at this point. I'm thinking "oh my god... backstage at Aerosmith, I'm going to die, I'm going to die". My sister says "No, her Mom would kill me". WHAT????????? I mean, at least let me have the pass but tell me I can't go backstage or just supervise where I go backstage or something!! Anyway, we get the tickets but no passes... It was hard to be mad though cause of the tickets. Anyway, we start walking down the stairs and asking the staff were our seats are, they all just keep telling us to keep going. So we do... all the way to the front row. Front row center!!! I was so happy at that moment. I can't even describe it. Now that is quite a moment really and its hard to beat. Here is where I make an ass out of myself... During the show I am busy starring at Joe Perry with no shirt on and while I am doing that Steven Tyler is in my face trying to get my attention waving his hand. He was mid song so I don't know if he just wanted me to grab his hand or if he would've pulled me up on stage or what. I am so busy looking at Joe that I don't even see it. My sister is elbowing me and I am still oblivious. I finally turn around to see Steven Tyler's hand in my face for about 2 seconds as he has just decided to give up. After the song was over Steven Tyler walked up to Joe Perry and I know he told him what happened... they seemed to find it amusing (pointing and laughing at the silly kid)... I didn't so much. All the people around me were laughing afterwards. Embarrassing but hey, it was Joe Perry (with no shirt on) and I was in 6th grade! Oh, Steven Tyler also spit his water on my head. I don't remember if that was before or after the Joe Perry incident. The song was "Shut Up and Dance".
Sigh.... At least I know they'd never remember it. lol
Ok, thats enough reading for you all for one night. I'll let you know if I do end up hearing anything about the job. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
