boyfriend got us tickets to blizzcon. my happiness knows no bounds. (:
i got the promotion i wanted at work. now i work from 5 am til 2 pm every day with varying days off, most likely wednesdays and thursdays. i start tomorrow. i'm pretty anxious to get in there and train. the position is bookkeeping, so i'll be responsible for maintaining the vault and the thirty six thousand dollars inside it, plus the seventeen hundred inside each of the four self check out machines. pretty heavy responsibility, but i think i've got it handled.
i can already tell that it'll be tough when i start school up again this semester. i'm taking four classes (english 100, yoga, beginning piano maybe?, and journalism) between mondays, wednesdays, and thursdays. then i still have to find time to spend with boyfriend between my new work times and his impossible schedule (6 pm til 3 am every day). it'll be a trial, that's for sure, but it'll work itself out.
although i just landed the bookkeeping job and all, i keep wanting new digs. something where i can work 3-4 days a week with more than 8 hours a shift so i can not have to worry as much about work interferring with school. i really don't want to drop out this semester. i feel like such a failure for last year. i always promised myself that i'd go to college, but with the way life is, i just can't do it the way i want to. it'll be a long, drawn out process, but hopefully it'll work out in the end. i think i'm going to cancel my cell phone and just worry about my car payment and car insurance. if i can get my parents to cover half the cost (which would only be $250 a month) then i could go to school full time, get my g.e. and aa out of the way and transfer to a four year. we'll have to see.
also, i know i never advertise sets or anything, but seeing as how she and breezey and i are going to get hitched, i'm thinking i can make an exception. besides, it's wonderfully done. make sure to check dexter's new set in member review. you won't be disappointed.
in brighter news, i started a couple of little projects that i'm very proud of --
1) you are beautiful
i've always admired the people who back and spread the you are beautiful project and i've decided to take part in it. i help cover my city and those surrounding in positive graffiti. i think it's wonderful. as banksy said, "society gets the vandalism it deserves."
2) the hundred prompt project
to kick start my writing again, i decided to start a new project where i'm given 100 random words and have to write a short story that, in one way or another, involves one of the words. my list of prompts can be seen here, and my first endeavor can be viewed for your visual enjoyment here. i'm going to be experimenting with different styles, as well as playing up on some of my old favorites. i'm nervous and excited to see where this project takes me.
3) photo-a-day
...i promise i'll think of a catchier name. well, the premise is simple enough. i'm going to take a picture, good or bad, every single day for a year. if it works out the way i want, it'll end up telling a story. if it doesn't, it'll just be an album for curious minds to browse through. win, win.
well, i think i've stolen enough of your time for now.
take care of yourselves.
