"You are to keep my statutes. You shall not breed together two kinds of your cattle; you shall not sow your field with tow kinds of seeds, nor wear a garnment upon you of two kinds of material mixed together" -Leviticus 19:19
About divorce "What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate" -Mark 10:9
"And he said to them 'Whoever divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery agaist her" - Mark 10:11-12
"A man whose testicles are crushed or whose penis is cut off may never join the assembly of God" -Deuteronomy 23:2
"Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garnments" -Timothy 2:9
"But whatever is in the seas and in the rivers that does not have fins and scales among all the teeming life of the water, and among all the living creatures that are in the water, they are detestable to you" -Leviticus 11:10
"You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves" -Leviticus 19:28
"As for the person who turns to mediums or spiritists, to play harlot after them, I will also set my face against that person and will cut them off from among his people" -Leviticus 20:16
All this bible talk is pretty confusing but basically what it means is that according to those verses, you will go to hell for cutting your hair, shaving your beard, eating pork, playing football, wearing clothing made of more than one fabric, getting a divorce, re-marrying, having no genitals, wearing anything expensive, eating shellfish, having tattoos or having your fortune told. You can't pick and choose which pieces of the bible to beleive and abide by.
"Test all things and hold fast to that which is good" -Thessalonians 5:21
Peoples misinterpretation of the bible has fueled the assumtion that slavery, segregation, opposition to medical science and even the holocaust and KKK were/are what the bible called for.
"Even the devil can cite scripture for his purpose" -Shakespeare
Even when we believe the scriptures are without error, it is a risk to think our understanding is without error.
Leviticus is a holiness code written 3,000 years ago. Holiness code is a list of behaviors that people of faith find offensive in a certain place and time. Leviticus was written for priests only, and its primary intent was to set the priests of Israel over and against priests of other cultures.
Abomination: In Herew refers to behaviors that people in a certain time and place find tasteless and offensive. To the Jews an abomination was not a law, not someting evil like rape or murder forbidden by the 10 commandments.
Jesus and Paul both said that the phrases "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female, it is an abomination" And "A man who sleeps with another man is an abomination and should be executed" were part of the holiness cod, not pertaining to Christian beleivers.
When the bible was written it was thought that sperm was a child that needed to be inside a woman for incubation. Therefore, sperm anywhere but inside a woman was considered murder and the main reason that homosexuality was condemed. Nowadays there are thousands of children needing parents so procreation isn't really an issue. And bone marrow can be turned into sperm so it is possible for two women to procreate.

*Only 10% of AIDS victims are gay
*The suicide rate of homosexuals is directly related to the harassment that they face from family and society

"Do unto others as you would have done unto you"
It was once thought that the Earth was flat and the man who discovered that it's round is now revered as one of the most important people in history. Changing your mind can set you apart and bring light to your previous beleifs.
I am still me. I still don't eat jello, I still sleep till noon, I still love bunnies and I still can't ride a bike. The only thing that's changed is the person I love. To us it's not taboo, it's just us.
So one day I hope you accept me how I am because it's not a phase. I'm not going to kill myself if you don't because I'm happy the way I am.
Having a closed mind shows ignorance. Read this now, think about it and read it later. Read it to your friends and see if they agree. And tell people that your daughter is gay because I'm not ashamed and you shouldn't be either. People can only use it against you if you agree with them.
