Ok this one strictly isn't a horror movie well only loosely, it's a very small budget British movie but I wanted to include it because its excellently made and it's about a real horror everyone will have experienced in their life at one time the act of bullying and pushing a joke until it's gone too far, Richard returns to his home town followed by his younger brother Anthony to get revenge on a gang that abused Anthony while Richard was in the army, Richard starts by intimidating the group and plays with them by humiliating them first before individually taking them out one by one, this movie kicks really hard when the final twist of what really happened to Anthony while Richard wasn't there for him is revealed and it completely changes what you thought was happening before you knew and once you understand then the movie will look completely different the next time you watch it and you'll see a completely different side to the actors emotions and the cut scenes like where Richard and Anthony are in home videos as children will hurt so much more and be so much more sad to see, as I said it's about the consequences of bullying and it's shown in hyper reality, it's something everyone has seen happening growing up and can relate too so it's very believable and at times it feels like your watching a documentary and not a movie, Directed by Shane Meadows known for his gritty realistic British dramas and stars the incredible Paddy Considine who really deserves way more credit than he gets, it's smart, inventive, incredibly sad and leaves an impact, that plot twist hits soooo soooo hard and is genuinely very difficult to watch and honestly left me completely heartbroken and hurt, it's really smart how the director uses it to completely change what you thought you was seeing, definitely not a party movie and best watched alone but it does have some genuinely funny moments too like the ridiculous car they all drive around in 😂😂😂, if you like emotional movies that deal in realism then this is an excellent and criminally under shown movie, of all the movies on my list this one has the most emotional impact and will cut the deepest, it's a very powerful story that stays with you for ever as that plot twist really does shock
Enjoy the trailer 👻👻👻 and feel free to share your memories and stories of these movies if you've watched them or have others you'd like to share
