How do I describe Possession 🤯🤯🤯 well it's probably the weirdest most intense movie that I have in my collection it's left so open it could mean a million different things, Mark is a spy who quits his job to return to live with his wife Anna and their son Bob, but Anna is always coming and leaving and her behaviour is extremely erratic, Mark suspects Anna is seeing somebody else and their relationship turns into constant fights, screaming matches and self harming, Mark was almost right and Anna is seeing someone or should I say something else as it's not a man it's a demonic tentacled creature she miscarried while Mark was away and is now her lover (I told you it was weird 🤭), as far as I can work out the creature becomes a doppelganger of Mark and is possibly a form of new god and a creation of Anna's desire for who she wanted Mark to be that is born out of her anger and frustration because Ana also has a doppelganger who seems to be everything Mark desires too, during this movie director Andrzej Zulawski was going through a very painful divorce and subliminally that's what the theme of this movie is, the scenes with Anna and Mark fighting are incredibly tense and realistic, Sam Neill has never looked so haunted and Isabelle Adjani is like a force of nature she won a prestigious award and was also rumoured to have had a breakdown after filming this, you can see her shaking with rage and she's so hypertense that you can imagine she's about to explode at any moment as her eyes get more red and bloodshot as she gets closer to the edge, she is absolutely amazing and I swear if you freeze frame every image of her in the movie she will not have the same expression in any of them she looks completely possessed, Isabelle is an amazing actress and at the time it was said she was extremely difficult to work with and directors in her native France refused to shoot with her anymore so this was kinda her last chance to redeem herself and with this movie she did by winning the best actress award at the cannes film Festival her miscarriage scene is perhaps the most talked about moment in the movie which you have to see to believe, if you've ever seen the video for voodoo in my blood by massive attack that is clearly inspired by this scene but in the movie it is a million times more intense and will leave you in disbelief, it's strange, it's weird, it makes no sense and will leave you confused as you could watch it over and over and never truly understand it but it's unique and there's nothing else like it and probably never will be, definitely worth watching for the amazing Isabelle Adjani performance 👏👏👏 and it's strangeness and intensity

A very intense film. That tunnel breakdown scene is unforgettable. I need to do a rewatch, but I really need to be in the right mood to ride this roller-coaster.

@car_a_carn it's such a unique movie and it definitely stays with you but you are completely right and it needs the right mood before you watch 😉
