Martin believes he is a vampire or is he???, Crosses and garlic have no effect, sunlight just bothers his eyes a little and he doesn't have fangs so instead he drugs his victims cuts their wrists with razor blades and drinks their blood, Blood gives him a huge sexual desire but he's so shy and awkward he can only have sex with people who are unconscious so chooses most victims that are women and are on their own and it's one reason why he likes to drug them first, it's a really minimal movie and is written and directed by George A Romero who is famously the creator of the night of the living dead franchise, he makes a small cameo as does special effects master Tom Savini, it's hard to tell if Martin really is an 84 year old vampire or just very confused as he has fantasies of his female victims trying to tease and arouse him but they seem as if they come from a completely different era of time like a previous life, he also likes to call into radio talk shows and talk about everything he does in a way that resembles social media of today, George Romero always made films with lots of satire so it's likely a commentary on how people make killers into celebrities and how damaging the effects of somebody's mental reality can be, it can be slow and it's minimalism won't work for everyone it also feels a little dated but if you like more arty movies it's worth a try
