Last year I decided to set myself a challenge and watch a horror movie each night in October as a build up towards Halloween, It's something I really enjoyed doing so I want to try it again this year, again some movies are well known and others not so well known and are hidden jems so hopefully I created a nice mixture and you enjoy reading some of the stories behind these movies I selected
Night 1 - The dead next door 1989
I thought I'd start with movie most people will never have heard of, it's a perfect 80's style low budget horror with cheap acting and homemade special effects in that special 80's way, parts are funny and parts are gory and you can see the influence of movies like Evil dead and other classic grindhouse features from that era. There's a Zombie epidemic and the government run Zombie squad (love the name 😂ðŸ¤) are struggling to keep control so they need to try locate a missing doctor who was convinced he had a cure, they find he was killed by a local cult who want to keep the zombies protected as they believe they are a message from God sent to punish everyone for their sins, continuing the doctors research they find the cure actually works but only on the completely dead, anyone who's been bitten but hasn't died yet actually turns into a hybrid were their mind is returned to human form but their body stays as a Zombie, it was a really fun movie to watch and the Zombie hybrids are actually really cool, it's definitely a good Halloween party recommendation for it's mixture of gore and funny scenes
Enjoy the trailer 👻👻👻 and feel free to share your memories and stories of these movies if you've watched them or have others you'd like to share
