Night 28 - Midsommar (2019)
Originally I was going to watch Hereditary tonight but I got the opportunity to watch Midsommar and as I hadn't seen it yet I made a last minute change, I found it more of an art film than horror as its very stylish, the look of the film reminds me very much of Hereditary there's lots of slow motion and camera tricks like spinning the camera round and showing things upside down and the instrumental music fits perfectly for atmosphere it actually feels like your watching a dream, it's still quite new so I won't spoil the story too much but it's about a Midsummer festival in rural Sweden and it's cult like members and is very similar to the wickerman, there's sex, suicide and sacrifice and themes of abusive/controlling relationships and probably needs multiple views to understand everything just like Hereditary did, it's not as good as Hereditary but it's something very different so definitely worth a try as it's beautifully made
