Night 23 - Children shouldn't play with dead things (1972)
I love this movie because it has has such an eerie atmosphere, Alan is a theatre director who loves to bully and humiliate his cast, he takes them to an abandoned island off the coast of Miami claiming its an island used as a cemetery for the criminally insane and that he will perform a Satanic ritual to raise the dead, they dig up a grave and when they open the casket the corpse jumps up and attacks the group but it was all a joke and the body was just an other actor Alan had planted as part of his joke, Alan then performs the ritual but when nothing happens he feels humiliated so he digs up a real corpse this time and pushes things too far by using it as one of his jokes to degrade the group, unfortunately for Alan his ritual did work and the dead rise wanting revenge for the humiliation of their friend, the music and electronic sounds effects add so much atmosphere and the way the zombies raise up is so much more creepy than the ones in the thriller video, I really loved the intro and there's a creepy moment I spotted when the group was running away from the zombie pack and back to the house you can see the dead body they dug up looking around the door frame before disappearing and going back upstairs and pretending to still be dead, the final slow motion scenes as the zombies crash through the door is soooooo eerie, its a strange film and not one everyone will enjoy but one I love because of the spooky atmosphere it creates
