I decided to set myself a challenge and watch a horror movie each night in October as a build up towards Halloween, some movies are well known and others not so well known
Night 18 - The Fog 1980
The Thing I love most about the fog is how atmospheric it is, I've always loved the sea at night especially in small quiet towns, there's something so mysterious and eerie about it and I get those feelings when I watch this movie, it's about a man called Blake who is part of a leper colony and he asks a small town for permission to settle near by, they agree but really they just want his gold so they arrange to set a fire on the beach to guide his ship to land but instead they guide him towards the rocks and all the crew and passengers drown in the wreckage, later they collected the gold, 100 years later it's the towns anniversary but each night a glowing fog covers the whole area and the ghosts of Blake and his crew have come back to kill 6 people in the place of the original 6 conspirators, The pirate ghosts are creepy as they mostly hide within the fog and John Carpenter's music really adds lots of atmosphere as does the the way the movie looks, I really enjoy the ghost story feel to this one
