Night 17 - Ringu (The Ring) (1998) Japanese version

The story of a cursed video cassette, anyone who watches a strange unmarked video cassette see's a weird short video, immediately after it finishes the phone rings and a voice says you will die in 7 days, I've never watched the US remake usually I always prefer the original versions so it's the Japanese version I watched which is called Ringu, one thing I really liked is it brought back memories of swapping and sharing copied movies on vhs cassettes as lots of times you would never really know what's on those cassettes and I've found nice surprises occasionally like I was supposed to be watching action movie under seige but I'd been given the wrong cassette and instead I discovered a super gory zombie movie called brain dead and some times even a surprise porno would turn up at the end of the movie I was supposed to be watching hahaha 🤭, it's a really well made movie and gets tense as the characters are running out of time, I love the part were Sadako walks up to the screen as the video plays then comes through the television set into the real world and it's incredible to see Hiroyuki Sanada looking almost exactly the same in 1998 as he does now in 2023 he's definitely found the secret of never aging, really enjoyed this one and beware unmarked videos because you never know what's on them 📼👻
