Night 2 - Candyman (2020)
Even though I love the original I chose the 2020 version to watch, this is how a remake should be done, it keeps the origins of the original but doesn't copy and creates a whole new story from it, Nia Decosta deserves a lot of praise and it's worth listening to her ideas and thoughts on how she created this story which she does with real intelligence, candyman is a story that represents the fear and violence created by racism and spread by the stories told about it in the community and its cool the way these stories are used to create the urban legend of the candyman who you summon when you look in a mirror and say his name 5 times, the music is excellent and really atmospheric and look out for the awesome shadow puppet scene and guest appearance from the original Candyman Tony Todd, some other facts are the original story was written by Clive Barker it was called the forbidden and was set in Liverpool (my home town) not Cabrini-green in Chicago
