I haven't been this upset in a long time.
As some of you know I'm part owner of Full Throttle Wrestling. I recently came up with a unique idea that may or may not of been all that great, but it was "outside the box". It may of been a bit too personal for those who were going to be involved, but that's okay. All someone needed to do was tell me in a professional manner why they weren't alright with my idea.
There are five owners. Two liked my idea and two did not.
One owner, named Chris, is good friends with the main player who was going to be involved in this. Well, they came over to the bar near my video store tonight for drinks.
I wanted to talk to Mike, the main person in this storyline. It should also be noted that he plays two characters. One named Tony Angel, who is a "jobber" or someone who loses a lot. The other is Chico, a Mexican stereotype who wears a Taco Bell shirt and says "I Win!" all the time. So, he comes over WITH Chris. I wanted to just talk to Mike alone. Chris had already told me on the phone that he thought my idea was horrible and acted very "high school" about the whole thing.
Anyway, I was nervous, because the two of them were in front of my counter and they seemed to gang up on me. They kept saying it wouldn't work, so I asked Mike, "Mike, don't you want to do more than just be a comedy character and a jobber?"
That pissed him off. Now I didn't say "you're a shithead" or for that matter "fuck your mother". No, I said his character was a comedy character. Big deal, right? Well he starts getting confrontational and it started upsetting me.
Long story short, he said a lot of personal things against me, but I stood my ground and didn't say anything hateful or mean back at him. I'm a pro, he's obviously not. I don't care if he's been in wrestling longer than me. I don't care. He's only a few years older than me. Anyway, he was upset because I made his character seem "silly". Well if you bought a ticket to a show and you saw the character I described above (Chico) wouldn't you think the same? Well, Chris seemed to think we were both in the wrong. Whatever.
Tomorrow, I'm waking up early and going to the owner's meeting @ 10am at the venue. I'm going to let it all out and there's a good posibility I'll ask for my $300 back and leave FTW altogether. Very good chance of that happening.
I think Mike should be released because of how he treated me personally and you just don't go up to an owner and talk to him/her like that.
Second, I want a little more respect and if I have an idea to have someone tell me they don't like in a professional manner, instead of telling me its horrible and making fun of it.
It just seems like some of the owners, including Chris, are just out to satisfy their own personal agendas, rather than help treat this company like a business and help it succeed.
I just don't know. I'm very upset right now and I'm in the chat room ignoring my friends as I type this. What a change from my last blog, right?
...so I cried tonight. After they left, I cried and a customer saw me. All of this happened right here in my video store. Whatever. Tomorrow is going to be like walking into a funeral and that's not me being emo either.
