I am working my last shift at my current job.
Monday begins my holiday.
And road trip with my long distance boy.
He has never been to the US before so I am very excited to show him some sights. We start out in Raleigh, then head up into Virginia, then on to DC, Philly, and NYC. Then a weekend at my cousins in DC to visit with her and her husband and baby.
Also, we are taking the dog with us. Another point I am excited about, cause shes my baby, and also I like to let her judge men for me, sometimes she knows better than me But mostly i just think it will be soo cute the three of us traveling together. However, it does bring up some issues as far as what we can do with a dog along. In the process of researching (where we can take her, what their requirments are for having the dog restrained etc.) I came across this intriguing invention.
Now, I am under the basic impression that I could get around just about everywhere were i to put my dog in such a contraption. The subways would accept this, and it is far more practical then trying to lug around a crate with the dog in it. However, I still find the whole thing quite ridiculas. I think its the whole legs free thing that really did it for me. I mean, as though your dog would feel more comfortable strapped to your chest if its legs could hang free. That and actually carrying your pet around like it is your child...lets stick to the shoulder bag people.
Of course the pure ridiculas nature of it all has me completely amused, and i really feel the need to have one now. Just so I can run around and act like a complete idiot with my dog strapped to my chest. Course half the humor in that would be that these seem to be designed for those little barking cat varieties like Yorkies or little Terriers or something. But the image of me running about NYC with a 50lb Pit Bull strapped to my chest has kept me giggling for hours. THe boy vetoed this idea though. Apparently it would be embarrasing
Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions for some great places to see in any of those places (fun bars, clubs, or great restaurants, or if you know of any dog friendly places, or have tips on getting around those cities with a dog) leave me a message. Also, if you live in any of the afformentioned locations and want to meet up then let me know!!
